Acer Aspire One Touchscreen: guide to modding

With over two million copies sold only in the last quarter of 2008, Acer Aspire One Netbook is one of the most popular. The low cost of these devices stimulate the imagination of the people who are launched in the most various experiments in modding, the transformation into robot remotely controlled addition of 3G HSDPA module on models that have none.
Some customizations are pure pastime or exercise of skill and ability, instead of installing other useful features, of which many of us feel the need, and expected to be implemented in the next generation of Aspire One.

We start, as usual,by unboxing. The white cardboard box contains:

Before mounting the touchscreen panel on our Acer Aspire One, you need some technical considerations. The touchscreen Hoda Technologies uses resistive technology (detects the pressure of the finger or stylus on the surface) and has a response time less than 10ms.
The touchscreen is applied directly to the original display, causing a slight drop in brightness at 15%, and is managed by a controller manufactured by Touch-Hub eGalax_eMPIA Technology Inc. (EETI). This is a small printed circuit board which is fed using a USB interface and offers an internal linearization to 9 or 25 points with the clearing system of the margin. Also serves as a USB hub, providing three additional USB interfaces for any devices (such as a Bluetooth dongle).
