The HP Mini 1120NR is a great netbook, and there are a few things you can add to it that will make it even better. First, as suggested by a previous review, you would be wise to add ram and the extended battery. Also, be aware that there is an SD card reader built in, so you can increase the available hard drive space without buying one of HPs proprietary mini usb drives. I didn't see this mentioned in any of the reviews.
The keyboard is great, though you might want to turn the touchpad off when you are using it. Thankfully, HP has made this convenient to do.
The screen/resolution are appropriate (though I do have a dead pixel in the middle of my screen). I watched a video on hulu tonight, and it looked fantastic.
Also, HPs MIE OS is nicer than I thought it would be. It is very easy to use, and it works great.
I bought this netbook to use primarily as a word processor/web browser, and I am more than satisfied. It's a great product, and I'm sure I will get a lot of use out of it. |

| This computer is lightweight & so compact --- I just love it!! Quick access to the web and screen is just the right size. I would recommend for anyone that wants a mini & is using primarily for web access & music downloads. |

After seeing the youtube review by laptopmag (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TBBBnqBtAI), I immediately got two. I was looking for the SSD (solid state hard drive) which the Mini has. The 10" screen is also a great addition, I don't think I can live with the smaller 8" version. The near full size keyboard was the deal maker. The only thing missing that I wanted was the VGA out or some kind of docking solution when I bring the netbook home.
The performance is good, given the low specs compared with full size laptops. If you are just doing browsing or word processing, this netbook is great! Not the mention the small footprint. The quick ship model that I got came with a 3-cell battery which, in my opinion, ran long enough. I believe a good deal of battery is saved by not having to run a traditional hard drive, which would have mechanical moving parts.
In short, get this if you want to get a computer for normal everyday tasks; email, internet, word, etc. |
Great Netbook, best keyboard I have seen on any netbook

| The HP Mini is a pretty good product. HP has really stepped ahead of the competition by putting an actual keyboard on this thing. Lots of space, and it has a true standard keyboard layout, unlike most Dell, Asus, and Acer netbooks. Screen is great quality, SSD drive performs well. Running Linux, this guy is pretty fast. My only complaint with it is the poor battery life. A lot of netbooks are shipping with 6-cell batteries that give them 5+ hours of battery life. This one ships with a 3-cell, giving me just over 2 hours. HP makes a 6-cell, but it costs half the price of the netbook. I'll just stick to frequent charges right now. All in all, this is the best netbook that I have encountered on the market so far. HP has done a nice job with this product. |
good netbook if youre buying from a good source.

| i got this for entertainment purposes, only you cant download itunes onto it!! i also got it from a bad source, it came with a virus and it will cost 200 dollars + to fix!! it gets viruses easily too, its a netbook so it doesnt have a security system. if youre buying for work and travel then this is for you. it had an ok keyboard, the system isnt very user friendly either. |
